33 PIECES OF ORIGINAL WORK SHOWN

This exhibition featured 33 original works spanning a range of photo projects created over the past year. Centered around the theme of adornment, the show explored how Black identity, memory, and expression are preserved through style, social practices, and storytelling. It also marked Tarah’s first exploration into fabric printing, using dye sublimation to expand the possibilities of photographic narrative.

DEBUT SOLO SHOW IN NYC FOR HAITIAN ARTIST AT 23 YEARS OLD

Ivy League Alumna and Haitian artist Tarah Paul uses photography as both an expressive and archival tool, centering the lived experiences of people across the African diaspora. Her work blends a background in design with a tactile use of light and texture, capturing moments of authenticity, joy, and reflection. While this marks her solo debut in New York City, Tarah first curated and hosted a gallery show at the Charles Addams Fine Arts Gallery in Philadelphia in 2024.

COMBINING FAITH + ART

Tarah Paul created the In Her Eyes Scholarship to support Black college women in the Philadelphia area who are pursuing creative paths. With the core tenant rooted in scripture the scholarship celebrates vision and artistic expression. During the opening night of her NYC solo show, Tarah honored and awarded this year’s two recipients— uplifting the next generation of Black women creatives and affirming the Tarah’s belief of “lifting as we climb.” Learn about the scholarship here.
